Privacy Policy
This policy describes how mail-temp.com (“we”, “the service”) handles information when you use our temp mail. We have tried to keep it short and concrete. If something here is unclear, ask us; the contact details are at the end.
At a glance
- No account. We never ask for your name, phone number or real email address.
- Public inboxes. Anyone who enters the same address can read the same mail.
- Mail expires. Received letters are deleted automatically.
- Minimal logs. Short-lived technical records, used only to keep the service running and to stop abuse.
- Your consent decides whether analytics and personalised ads use cookies.
- We do not sell data and we do not send marketing mail.
Who can read a temp mail inbox?
Anyone who knows the address. Inboxes have no password: that is what lets you receive mail instantly, without signing up. The flip side is that a temp mail address is a shared space, not a private one. Use it for sign-ups, tests and one-off confirmations, and never for passwords, banking, medical or other sensitive correspondence. If you need privacy for the content of your mail, use a mailbox that you alone can log in to.
What information do we process?
Letters sent to temp mail addresses
When someone sends mail to an address on this site, we store the letter so that it can be shown on the page. We do not read letters for marketing, and we do not link them to any person, since we do not know who opened the inbox.
Technical logs
Like almost every website, our servers record basic request data: IP address, browser type (User-Agent) and the time of the request. We use it only to keep the service stable, to limit automated abuse and to investigate faults, never to build a profile of a visitor.
Data kept in your browser
The list of addresses you have opened, your language and your notification settings are stored in your own browser. That list is not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
How long is it kept?
Letters are deleted automatically, typically after at least a few days and often later; the exact time depends on how busy the servers are, so we do not promise a fixed number. You can also delete a letter yourself on the page. Technical logs are kept only as long as they are needed for security and reliability.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies of our own:
- Functional cookies remember which inbox you are reading and your preferences, such as language and notification sound.
- A consent cookie remembers your answer to the cookie question, so we do not ask on every visit.
Analytics and advertising partners, described below, may set their own cookies, but only in line with the choice you make. You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work, but it may forget your inbox and settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages are useful and find slow spots. It runs in consent mode: until you agree, it works without analytics cookies and without identifying you. We never pass email addresses or letter contents to it.
Advertising
The service is free and supported by Google AdSense. With your consent, ads may be personalised; without it, Google shows non-personalised ads. Google may use its own cookies for this, as described in Google’s advertising policy. Ads are shown around the page, never inside a received letter.
Who do we share data with?
Only with the Google services named above, within the limits of your consent, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell, rent or trade information to anyone.
Security
Connections to the service are encrypted, and our servers are not openly accessible. Encryption protects data on its way to you; it cannot make a public inbox private. Anyone who knows an address can still open it.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service for fraud, harassment, impersonating others, mass automated registrations or attempts to access inboxes that are not yours. Where we see such activity, we may block it, using the technical logs described above.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information about them. If you think a child has used the service in a way that needs our attention, please contact us.
International processing
The service is available worldwide, and the limited technical data described here may be processed on servers outside your country.
Your choices
- Change your mind about cookies at any time by clearing them in your browser; you will be asked again on your next visit.
- Delete letters you no longer need directly on the page.
- Contact us about any privacy question, including requests about data related to you.

We update this policy when the service or the rules change. The current version is always on this page.
